Spring Break Thoughts and Fun Plans

It's spring break here!

The kids are off school for two weeks.

I am in work 2 full days and 2 half days next week, then off the week after.

Everyone is off from Good Friday through Easter Monday.

Easter Goals:
  • Go to local national trust sites and do easter egg trails
  • Do an easter egg hunt in the garden
  • Tape bunny ears on a helmets and go for a bike ride
    2023

  • Make Chocolate Easter Egg Nests

Easter Already Done list
  • Haircuts! I've decided the boys (Andy and Ezra) get haircuts at every term and half term holiday. I do the boy hair cuts myself - Ezra's summer hair is short:
  • Set up the garden for eating outside
(we still need to set up a toddler table)

The kids are off school for two weeks, and on the second week of holidays I am taking the two big kids to Sweden for 5 days to visit family.  It is very exciting and also... I haven't left the country since 2019.  Lily has never flown before. I don't remember how to pack, or travel, or do anything.  I will bring lots of snacks.  It will be fine.  It will be fun?

Do you get an easter holiday? Does it feel like spring break?

  1. The kids get the Friday and Monday off of school here in Canada (but for many places if is only Good Friday that is the holiday). And I don't know if they get any day off school for Easter in the US?
So, no - it doesn't really feel like spring break because it is quite short, but what always throws me off is that some years it's in March (when we have our 1-week spring break off school) and some years (like this) it's in April! I like predictability ;)
The ears on the helmet are adorable.
Also, I just love how you call it the "garden" - I would call something like that the "yard" but garden sounds so much more refined and happy!

  2. My kids have Good Friday off of school. Usually spring break is the week of Easter so they get the whole week off before Easter Sunday. This year Easter is later so Spring already passed and they get a day off of school for Good Friday. As a person who doesn’t celebrate Easter I find the current situation slightly annoying but have no issues with days off for Easter being rolled into Spring break.

  5. I’m excited for your trip to Sweden! Wow, 2 weeks for Easter? That’s fabulous. We’re all adults around here, and don’t have any plans yet. That may change, but if it does it will just be brunch with my in-laws.

  6. It will be fun!! The good thing is, they have stuff in Sweden, so if you forget anything, you can really just buy it. But you know that! I think that traveling is like riding a bike; you will probably get right back into your groove as soon as you start packing. Have a great spring break!
