We had our thanksgiving today! I love Thanksgivings.
Menu as follows:
- Turkey
- Gravy
- Cranberry Sauce
- Roast Potatoes & Carrots
- Sweet Potato Roast
- Unstuffed Mushroom Casserole
- Spinach Casserole
- Classic Walnut Stuffing
- Cornbread
- Pumpkin Pie
- Apple Crumble with Pecans
My mom made the turkey, Andy made the stuffing, Sainsburys made the Cranberry Sauce and I made everything else. It's been a busy weekend!
I did have help
Hopefully we'll have a new oven by thanksgiving next year, but I was pretty pleased at my oven Tetris
I decided against pecan pie but was happy I made a pecan dessert. Apple crumbles are so good and I don't know why I don't eat the more (obvious sugar reasons aside)This week:
- Monday evening at home: review November goals and plan December goals (hint: I made 0 of 2 monthly runs in November)
- Writing club on Tuesday
- Office day then out to dinner with friends on Wednesday
- Andy at home night on Thursday
- Not attending Christmas Party on Friday and looking forward to downtime
Your feast sounds delicious! I am especially intrigued by the mushroom casserole. And your helper looks very cheerful and adorable.
ReplyDeleteThe mushroom casserole was a total hit. I can't eat it because I know it's basically cheese stuck together with breadcrumbs. It was/is delicious.
DeleteI didn't have a proper supper this evening and reading your food list is legitimately making my stomach rumble. Might be time to head into the kitchen for a snack - which will definitely pale in comparison to your feast!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could comment on your blog via my iPad or my phone, but I cannot. Only on my work computer, which means I have to be sitting in front of it, and not working. Frustrating. Clearly it's something on my end, but I don't know what. I have this issue with all of my blogger friends who have the 'Sign in with Google' on their blogs. Sigh. Just wanted you to know that I do come by and read, I just can't always comment.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, your Thanksgiving looks delicious, and your helper is adorable!
Aww thank you! I have that same problem with blogger! I can only do it off my work computer to and it keeps me from commenting on other people's blogs. I wonder if it's a setting I can change - I think I just didn't want random comments but also maybe I could just allow random comments...?
DeleteI honestly don't know why anyone makes a pie over a crumble. Crumbles are so much easier! Also, I don't know anyone who's all "I LOVE a pie crust pastry." Crumble for life!
ReplyDeletehaha it's true! The best you get with pie is "well this crust isn't burned or raw"
DeleteHow wonderful - I am glad you had a great Thanksgiving meal :)
